Where is my radio serial number?

Check the radio card in the handbook wallet first. If it is missing, remove the radio with release keys — the 14-character serial is on the label and starts VWZ, AUZ, SKZ or SEZ.

My radio says SAFE. What does that mean?

The radio is locked and waiting for its code. After too many wrong tries it shows SAFE with a small number — leave it switched on for an hour before trying again.

Is my code calculated?

No. VW group codes were issued from a factory database, so we look your serial up in our records. The free check tells you if we have it before you pay.
